Contact the Desk

One editorial mailbox, and a plain list of what it will and will not help with.

The one mailbox

There is one editorial mailbox: editor@bendigobullionau.com. It is read by the people who write the pages, so a correction, a question about a method or a note that a figure has moved all go to the same place. There is no phone line and no live chat.

No response time is promised. Messages are read in the order they arrive, and a message that includes the page address and the exact wording in question is easier to act on than a general comment. Please do not send account numbers, passwords or identity documents to this address.

What the desk will help with

The desk will help with questions about what a page says, how a figure was sourced and when it was read. It will also take a report of an error, a broken link or a statement that looks out of date, and it will point a reader to the broker's own documents where the answer sits there.

It will not help with account problems, frozen accounts, deposit or withdrawal disputes, or fund recovery. Those are matters between the reader and the broker, and the desk has no access to either side. It also will not give personal advice on whether to trade gold, how much to risk or which position size to use.

The response time you should expect and what affects it

Expect a reply within two business days for straightforward factual questions, and allow longer when your message needs a source checked or a figure recalculated. Response time depends on how specific the question is, whether it arrives during Australian business hours, and whether it duplicates a thread already open. A message that names the page, the number and the source is usually answered in one pass; a message that asks us to guess what you mean takes at least two.

Messages sent over a weekend or public holiday in Australia are read on the next business day. Volume matters too: periods when gold (XAU/USD) is moving sharply produce more mail, and calculation questions queue behind correction requests. We do not operate a live chat or a phone line, so there is no faster channel to ask for. If your question is time-sensitive because a market event is imminent, say so in the first line and include the specific figure you need confirmed.

We do not send holding replies that promise a date we cannot keep. If a question needs input we do not have, you will get a short note saying what is missing rather than silence. That is deliberate: an honest 'we cannot confirm this yet' is more useful than a reply that looks complete but is not. Plan around two business days as the normal case, and treat anything faster as a bonus rather than the standard.

How a correction request is handled from receipt to resolution

A correction request is logged, checked against the source you supply, and either actioned or explained. Send the page URL, the exact wording or number, and the source with its date. We compare your source with what the page says and with the facts the page is permitted to state. If the page is wrong, it is corrected and the change is noted internally. If the page is right and your source differs, you get a reply explaining which figure the page relies on and why.

Corrections are not debated by email. The decision rests on whether the page states something the underlying facts do not support, or omits a qualifier that changes the meaning. A number that is accurate but easy to misread is a candidate for clearer wording; a number that is simply different from a source you prefer is not an error. We will say which of those two situations applies rather than leaving you to infer it from a silent edit.

If a correction is accepted, the page is updated and the reply tells you what changed. If it is declined, the reply states the basis for the original wording so you can judge whether to rely on it. We do not remove accurate content because it is inconvenient, and we do not keep inaccurate content because it is popular. That applies equally to figures, to the leverage cap of 1:200, and to the regulator caveat about FxPro holding FCA and CySEC licences but not an ASIC licence.

Exactly what to send for each kind of question

For a data or figure correction, send the page URL, the exact sentence or number at issue, the source you rely on, and the date of that source. For a gold (XAU/USD) calculation query, include the lot size, the entry and exit prices to two decimals, the pip value you used, and the account currency. For a platform or funding question, name the platform (MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app) and the funding method (PayID or bank transfer), plus the A$ amount and the time the issue occurred. Vague messages cost a round trip; itemised ones get a direct answer.

For a margin or leverage question, state the position size in lots, the reference price you used, and the leverage cap you are checking against. At the maximum available cap of 1:200, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin, so show your own arithmetic and we can confirm where it diverges. Do not send screenshots of account balances or identification documents; we do not need them to answer a calculation or policy question, and holding them creates a privacy obligation neither side wants.

For a regulatory or entity question, ask specifically about the FCA and CySEC licences held by FxPro, or about the ASIC position. The caveat is fixed: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC. It does not hold an ASIC licence, so Australian residents deal with an offshore entity — check this before funding. Send the sentence you want checked and the context you are applying it to. We can confirm what the licence position is; we cannot tell you whether that structure suits your circumstances.

What a useful message contains so an answer is actually possible

A useful message states one question, the page it relates to, and the specific figure or sentence at issue. Include the instrument code and size where relevant, such as gold (XAU/USD) at 0.10 lots, and the reference price to one decimal, such as 4275.0. If the question is about funding, name PayID or bank transfer and the A$ amount. If it is about platforms, name MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app. Specificity is what makes a one-pass answer possible.

Leave out account numbers, passwords, identity documents and screenshots of balances. None of those help answer a factual question about how a calculation works or what a licence position is, and sending them creates a data-handling problem. If your question genuinely depends on your account, it is an account question and belongs with the broker, not with an information desk. A message that stays on the published material gets a faster and more definite reply.

State what you have already checked and what you concluded, even if you think it is obvious. That lets the reply confirm or correct your reasoning instead of restating the page. If you are comparing two figures, show both and say where each came from. If you are unsure whether a rule applies to you, describe the situation in general terms rather than sending personal financial detail. The aim is a question that can be answered from published facts, not a case file.

No guest posts and no paid placement

The desk does not accept guest posts, sponsored reviews or paid placement at any price. There is no rate card, no advertorial slot and no way to buy a mention, a ranking or a link. A pitch that offers payment for coverage is declined without further discussion.

This keeps the only commercial relationship a simple one: an affiliate link, disclosed where it appears. A broker cannot pay to have a weakness removed, and a reader cannot pay to have a broker added. If that ever changes, it will be stated on this page rather than discovered later.

What the desk can answer and where personal trading advice stops

We answer factual questions about the material on this site: how a gold pip is calculated, what a lot of 100 oz means, how the 1:200 leverage cap applies, which platforms FxPro offers, and what the regulator caveat says. We do not answer whether you should buy or sell gold, what position size suits your finances, or whether now is a good time to enter. Those are personal trading advice, and a general information desk is the wrong place for them.

A question about how margin is calculated is answerable; a question about whether you can afford a 0.10-lot position is not. We can walk through the arithmetic that produces about $85.50 margin at 1:200 for 0.10 lots, and we can explain that leverage is a cap rather than a setting to aim at. We cannot assess your income, debts, risk tolerance or time horizon, and we will not imply that a calculation amounts to a recommendation.

Questions about tax treatment of gold trading, superannuation, or your personal tax residency are outside what we can answer. Australian tax outcomes depend on individual circumstances and change over time; direct those to a registered tax agent. Similarly, questions about whether an offshore entity structure is appropriate for you belong with a licensed adviser. We can state the licence facts plainly and stop there, which is the honest boundary of a research and education desk.

What this desk cannot do and where those requests actually belong

This desk cannot access your trading account, reset a password, release a withdrawal, recover funds, or intervene in a dispute with a broker. Those are account and counterparty matters, and they go to FxPro support through the channels in your account. For Australian residents, the entity serving you is FxPro UK Limited, and the caveat applies: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC. It does not hold an ASIC licence, so Australian residents deal with an offshore entity — check this before funding.

This desk also cannot give personal trading advice, recommend a position size, or tell you whether to trade gold at all. It cannot confirm your tax position, advise on superannuation, or assess whether an offshore entity is suitable for you. Those questions belong with a licensed adviser or a registered tax agent. What we can do is explain how a pip is calculated for gold, what 100 oz in a standard lot means, and how the 1:200 leverage cap produces about $85.50 margin on 0.10 lots.

If your message is one we cannot action, you will be told where it should go rather than simply declined. Fund recovery and account access go to the broker; personal advice goes to a licensed adviser; tax questions go to a registered tax agent; complaints about a financial product or service can go to the relevant dispute body. Redirecting is not a brush-off. It is the fastest route to an answer from someone with the authority and the records to give one.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I reach the Bendigo Bullion desk?

Use the contact form on this site and include the page and the specific point you are querying. We read messages about content accuracy, broken calculators and factual corrections. We do not have a dealing desk, so we cannot accept instructions, confirm prices or act on a trade for you at any hour.

Can the desk tell me whether to buy or sell gold today?

No. We do not give trading signals, entry or exit levels, or personal recommendations, and we are not a licensed adviser. What we can do is explain how a position is sized, how a pip of 0.01 converts to dollars on 100 oz, and how margin behaves at up to 1:200. The decision remains yours.

Can you help me with a deposit, withdrawal or account issue?

No. Account funding through PayID or bank transfer, withdrawals and login problems are handled by the broker, not by this desk. We do not hold accounts or see your balance. Contact the broker's own support for anything involving money movement, and keep records of the reference numbers they give you.

Will you answer questions about a broker's licence or regulation?

We can point you to the stated position: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC. It does not hold an ASIC licence, so Australian residents deal with an offshore entity — check this before funding. We cannot give legal advice on what that means for your rights; that is a question for the broker or a qualified adviser.

How quickly should I expect a reply?

We aim to respond to content and correction queries within a reasonable working period, but we cannot promise a fixed turnaround and we do not staff a live chat. Messages that name the page and quote the exact sentence get resolved fastest. Urgent trading or account matters should go to the broker, not to us.
